We recently took this ship for a moonlight cruise of the Potomac. There really isn't a lot to see on that river besides airplanes landing and taking off at Reagan. It was a 3 hour cruise and we would have been happy to be done in 2 hours. The staff and atmosphere of the cruise were good. I enjoyed the... More

After more than 60 trips to DC, primarily for work, I finally visited Mount Vernon. If you are doing the day tour, I highly recommend this cruise rather than a bus trip. The views from the Potomac River give you an entirely different vantage point and you get to see some neat things along the route, including a historic fort.... More

We had been on the Odyssey the sister cruise to this one before. It was my mom's birthday, so we decided to try this one. The views are very lovely for sure, we love living in DC. Be sure to look at both routes for the Spirit and the Odyssey, as they see different things. We chose this one, since... More

Perfect in every way, Best Sweet 16 Birthday Party. The sales staff helped us with extra last minute ticket needs. The chef prepared wonderful dishes, lots of great choices, the wait staff was SUPERB (shout out to Lavada). The General Mgr, Mr Anthony Gardner was so nice, professional, kind, helpful. We highly recommend this fun cruise, great sites to see,... More

The Spirit is a great activity for teens and above. We were a college group that brought 40 high schools students to visit some colleges in the area. Our participants had a great time. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious. I have been on several Spirit cruises, and by far this was the best. Our teens really... More

This was a perfect day getaway from DC. The pier is easy to get from the Waterfront Metro Station. The boat was in clean working order and the air conditioning was an added plus if you wanted to go inside. The staff were friendly and prompt. The boat left when it was supposed to and we arrived back in DC... More

This was our first trip to DC, but I would never use Spirit Of Washington Cruise line again. On Saturday June 25,2016 we were scheduled to board at 5 pm, but did not get on till 5:20pm the crew was not ready. The boat was in the dock all afternoon. I could see it from our hotel. OK, so with... More

This was a very pleasant way to travel to and from Mount Vernon and to visit the estate of George Washington and the cost was very reasonable. The narrator was very knowledgeable on the trip and we learned a lot about the area. I thought 3 hours at Mt. Vernon would be pushing it, but I was wrong and it... More

A fabulous trip down the Potomac. Excellent opportunities for photos along the way. A GREAT view of Mt. Vernon from the river. You can sit up top in the sun or on the main floor in air conditioned comfort. Snacks available for purchase. High recommend!!!

We went on the Cruise from Washington DC to Mt Vernon as part of our Explorer Pass we bought on Costco.com which saved us a lot of money. Make sure to sit outside so you can get some great pictures. On the way there, the captain points out various sites along the shore and gives some great historical facts and... More
