Couldn't get a tour of the White House, but this was a nice second option. Really enjoyed the exhibit and brief film from the perspective of past presidents and wives about their experiences living in the White House. Would definitely recommend.

A good chance to get a virtual tour of the white house and see how each president lived their daily lives.

This is a small spot to get some inside info on the white house without taking a tour. There are some artifacts and historical info as well souvenirs and brochures to take away. Its worth a look if you are in town.

We found the White House Visitors Center to be quite impressive. A model of the White House sits in the center of the floor once you enter the visitors center, which is a very cool depiction of how impressive it is. The center also features...More

I went here after my tour of the White House. It had an excellent film about the house with prospectives from different presidents and first laddies. It has a bunch of cool historical artifacts from the White. Then it has a nice gift shop where...More

This visitors center is a good substitute for the majority of people visiting DC as White House tours are hard to come by. There are multiple artifacts from different presidents (recent and not-so-recent). My young daughter's favorite was trying to get the presidents' favorite food....More

Hi Frances : No, you don't need your Passport to gain entry to the "White House Visitor Center" - as other contributors have indicated, there is a security check, which includes a "scan" similar to that at an Airport. You... More

Definitely NOT allowed to bring ANY food or drink inside. We had to pour out our water and toss any snacks that we had in our bags.
