Washington DC Monuments by Moonlight Tour by Trolley

Washington DC looks spectacular when lit up at night, so make the most of your time in the city by going on an evening tour on an open-air trolley. Going on an organized tour saves time working out local public transport, and means you can learn along the way through guide commentary. Tick off lots of top landmarks such as the Lincoln Memorial, the White House, the Washington Memorial, and more.

The band performs on an elevated stage within the church sanctuary. There's an open space in the back for dancing. $5 to see excellent musicians. We've been coming for over 10 years. The audience is every age and the best diversity of any venue I've seen. Generally three sets.

It's the best spent nickel in town. The best musicians in the city. It's all straight ahead jazz and this crowd knows every song, every line, every solo, every chord and key change. Also the friendliest crowd in the city. I knew none of them when I got here... They adopted me. This place is family.

Talented and entertaining musicians playing vibrant Jazz on Friday night (Blues on Monday night). Home made comfort food is available downstairs in the community room. Good choice of entrée: Salmon Cake, Fried Catfish, Pulled BBQ Pork, Chicken and sides. Entrance is $5 and dinner around $10.

How have we missed this?! What a terrific jazz venue. Warm and welcoming. Friendly locals and visitors. Jazz experts and jazz newbies. All here to soak in some amazing talent, carrying on in the tradition of Duke Ellington and other jazz luminaries who had their roots in the District. The five dollar cover charge makes it all seem circa 1970 (and kids under 18 are free). The very reasonably priced and tasty soul food in the basement is the icing on top (and the music is piped in live downstairs, so you don’t miss a thing). What a great Friday night musical treat.
