What a beautiful pool connecting the Lincoln Memorial with the World War II memorial. The “national ducks” were especially fun to watch as swam about the pool. When we were on the top steps of the Lincoln Memorial, we stood in the middle of the opening. The reflection of the Washington Monument in the pool is breathtaking. The Capitol building wasn’t visible at all, proving that these 3 are in a straight line.

Strolling along here having visited the Lincoln Memorial heading towards the Washington Monument via the World War II Memorial is a really pleasant way to spend a little time in Washington.
There are plenty of benches nearby on which you can take a break, have a picnic etc
I noticed a few previous reviews mention the water being dirty. On the day we were there there were workers/ gardeners in the pool with long wellingtons on clearing out some of the algae etc

Reflection pool is a water feature found in the National Mall in Washington. At the base of Capitol Hill, this pool echoes by the Lincoln Memorial at the other end of the Mall. Perfect for photography.

My 14 year old daughter and I took a tour of the national mall. Within that tour, we saw this reflecting pool. It is a great photo opportunity from either the WWII Memorial or the Lincoln Memorial.
The last time I visited Washington DC, which was about eight years ago, the reflecting pool was empty. It was nice to see it full this time.

The reflecting pool in between the Lincoln Memorial and WWII Memorial will be lit up with electric candles tonight September 10 for Lights of Hope. There will be a presentation at the base of the Lincoln Memorial. If you are around, it will be a great spectacle to see.

The pool lies between the Lincoln Memorial and the WWII Memorial. It was a beautiful day when we visited but the water is green and sludgy. The ducklings were a sweet addition. It would be lovely if the water was cleaner, although it does mirror and reflect the Washington Monument perfectly on the surface. Basically you are seeing 3 monuments in one spot. WWII, The Pool, and Lincoln. The surrounding grounds are very pretty and very well kept. Bathrooms at Lincoln Memorial. Free, no ID. Open area free to walk around. Peaceful.

The Reflecting Pool has been a fixture and focal point of the Mall for decades. It adds elegance and serenity to the Mall. It's always rejuvenating to stroll along the Reflecting Pool and enjoy the atmosphere.

When the pool is full and reflecting the historic monuments I can imagine it looks nice. However on my visit there was just a narrow strip of water which was dirty and full of debris.

This was ok. Definitely iconic. But the water was dirty and there were tons of geese and ducks (and poo). I get it, and how could you really keep it clean, but it was underwhelming.
