We took our children to DC for educational purposes. We really wanted them to see what our country stands for in every aspect. Great area, feels very safe and has all the major sites including the White House and National Mall. Easy to walk around and some amazing things to see.

Everything about our visit was good and the tour guide was very knowledgeable. Although it was very busy, we didn't feel rushed. The only drawback was the scaffolding that is up at the moment for renovations. This obscured some of the pictures and statues. Well worth a visit and it's free which is a bonus!

We requested a tour via our Congressman's office and it paid off. Not that we got to see anything that's normally off-limits (in fact the Rotunda was closed for renovations), but getting a tour from one of his aides added a personal touch to the experience.
