The highlight of living in DC was visiting the Marine Barracks and the Sunset Parades. Each parade has a little different 'theme' and guest of honor. The music is always top-notch, the silent drill team is fascinating and the marching is impressive. If you are...More

I expected the Sunset Parade to be impressive, but it exceeded my expectations. The show, and it is a show, is much more than a concert or a performance by the U.S. Marine's silent drill team. The event is well choreographed and someone with theater...More

There was no way I was going to miss this. The only regret is that we were in D.C. and it rained the first week, therefore it was cancelled. I was shocked but figured it was due to civilian reasons. The next week we got...More

This is a very patriotic and impressive thing to do in DC that is absolutely free. So impressed with the precision and dedication of these young men and women. The silent drill team is phenomenal. The barracks itself is beautiful. The Marines who were involved...More

We requested tickets to this parade well in advance. My father is an 80 year old army veteran who loves patriotic music and marching bands. Since my parents have limited mobility, we were placed in chairs along the grassy area below the bleachers. We had...More

Right now they are doing the parade in front of the Lincoln Memorial because the normal location is getting updated. This is a "must see" and very patriotic and fine representation of the Marine Corps. We loved it; and the kids there did too. It's...More

An incredible event not to be missed! We have gone in previous years and already have our tickets for this summer. Tickets are required and can be acquired by email request(free).

I'm slightly bias as I was a member of the Marching 24, US Marine Silent Drill Platoon from 1985-1987 which is a standard 2 year stint. I never missed a parade. If you have any patriotic bones in your body you'll be in tears after...More

We were visiting Washington and had heard great things about the parade so managed to get tickets for the final performance of the season. We arrived in plenty of time after having dinner in the local area which has some great eateries. The Marines were...More

Whatever you’re wearing on the Mall is fine. There will be people dressed in professional, business casual, to tourist shirt and shorts. Be comfortable!

Yes. There are Marines posted around the event area before and after the parade and they are happy to speak with you, answer questions, and pose for pictures.
