The Smithsonian Institute has multliple Museum sites available for free admission when you are in the D.C. area. I recommend all of the ones located on the Mall and some of the ones located "off campus" like the Udvar-Hazy Space Museum in Chantilly, VA. Being...More

Would recommend the Air and Space and Gallery of Art West Wing over all others. If you have need of lockers, American History and Natural History have free storage lockers available. Please note that Natural history has the larger of the two museums. Not much...More

There are actually 19 museums in the Smithsonian 'group' and they are all pretty amazing. We LOVED the art museum and the Nat History and the Air & Space. Not so hot about the American Indian one- tons of money poured in there and lots...More

I recommend that people go to the Smithsonian if they're interested in any aspect of history! Although, it is strongly suggested that everyone should go to the American History Smithsonian Museum because it had so many intriguing objects. Make sure you give yourself time though...More

We had children with us 15, 12, 8 ,7,and 4. There was plenty to do for all. So much information on so many different things. There is no cost to enter and this should take 2 or 3 hours to go through.
