We saw a couple of tandem bikes at the shop and they were offered to us since our boys were 8. The boys each ended up with their own bikes and they were fine as the tour guide will go at your pace.

We found no queues at any museum, but yes the mornings will be less busy. We had jet lag so mornings worked for us :-)
