Most things in DC are free if you do them on your own - This company will accompany you to the museums and monuments and give you extra information you don't get from docents; offer you a shuttle to get there; you skip the long lines to enter and it's part of an entire tour that enables you to see it all in one day. They are entitled to be paid for their services. This tour is very fast paced - if you like to take your time, have the time to see everything leisurely, and don't mind lines then you don't need this tour.
