My husband and I were lucky to book a trip here at the end of the March and to see the Cherry Blossoms in full bloom. We had NO clue it would be packed as it was--but it really didn't bother us much. The views were gorgeous and it was so much fun walking the Tidal Basin and seeing everyone's... More

The main attraction to the Tidal Basin is of course in spring when the cherry blossoms burst into bloom. And believe me that is exactly what happens, the blossom burst into view. This can happen quickly sometime in as little as a day or two. This is truly something everyone should try and see. There is just no way to... More

First, go at the end of March, early April when it's cherry blossom time. These trees were a gift from Japan in the 20's and are spectacular. It is a pleasant walk around the tidal basin even with the crowds but we love it.

We had the opportunity to rent paddle boats for an hour during the tail end of the Cherry Blossom Festival (well, the tail end of the cherry trees actually blossoming). It was a nice day, beautiful scenery all around, and just a nice time. Just be warned that there is a little current, so getting the boat back required a... More

Stunning place to go for a walk. Take in the sites near by. Has a nice path surrounding it and overall was a must a do.

Cherry blossom is now over. Still a nice place to walk around but I am sure that it was more spectacular a few days ago. Now, nothing more than nice.

The place was packed, but worth the crowds to see the beautiful blossoms. Disappointed to see some people picking blossoms and letting children climb the trees.

We have visited Washington DC a number of times in the spring and the joy of seeing the cherry blossoms never gets old. This year we timed our visit perfectly. We arrived on a Friday and I headed directly to the Tidal Basin. I took the Circulator bus ($1) through the mall to the Jefferson Memorial. It was crowded with... More

This is most certainly the place to see the cherry blossoms in March/April. There are pleasant walks and nice to be able to relaxin the sunshine
