Ideal to visit with children and teenagers, but also alone. Mammals are the favorites but mommies are curious to observe.

Years ago (when my own children were young) there was an ice cream parlor inside, and I miss that. The exhibits are awesome for the young. We would usually visit the less popular exhibits, like the one on bugs, and small mammal bones, or the...More

Busy place with an enormous collection! Good gift shop. Several eating places. I have been to this museum many a time but there is always something new to learn and new exhibitions are regularly mounted. This time, I focused on the gems and mineral section...More

We took our grandson there for four hours and there is just so much to see that a half day is definitely not enough. Very informative and our grandson who is 13 was totally engaged. They are geared up for children very well.

What could be more important and interesting than the world around us? Great museum, incredible displays, amazing variety, actively reaching out to inform, educate & entertain. And a great place to go with kids if it’s cold or raining. Miles of stuff to see (literally)...More

As with many museums clearly there is a shift from collections to more modern presentations - and where this has been done it really has been done well; like the oceans exhibit. Other more random areas of collections of ‘stuff’ that is interesting but not...More

There are a lot of diverse exhibits to enjoy here. I like the temporary exhibits as there is always something new to see. If you want to avoid the crowds, go on a weekday.
