The Library of Congress is located just behind the United States Capital building so there is no excuse to not walking over a having a look. It will be worth it.

I took some Brazilian friends, and they were in awe of the ambiance, the architecture, the simple yet imposing beauty as well as the history of the place. A must stop especially if you are visiting the Capitol.
It amazes me that these large building were built with all the marble/granite. Learning about the building itself is interesting, for example the "puttis" or babies in the hall around the steps, look close they all have a different occupation. Gutenberg bible on display
