This statue is a moving tribute to the young boys who had the terrible experience of the war in Vietnam. Before this work reflect on the price that must be paid to fight every war. Proceeding along the way you find the wall with countless names of young boys. Think about it.

PROS
• Fantastic artwork of detailed sculpture
• Realistic lifelike and powerful
• Meaningful and thought provoking
• Somber and sobering
• Relatable because it is “only” life size
• “Hidden gem”

CONS
• Not publicized as much as other memorials

“I VISITED THIS PLACE”…
… when going from the Lincoln Memorial to the Vietnam War Memorial at night. I did not expect to see it there- quite a surprise and write meaningful and lifelike- something that we should all be able to relate to.

TIP
Look for it before the Vietnam war memorial and be sure to see it – it’s quite realistic and life-size and we can relate to it… I hope

This is a wonderful statue dedicated to the many soldiers who gave the ultimate sacrifice in a war that few wanted. It’s certainly thought-provoking and is a good place to begin conversations with your children about US involvement in wars.

The sculpture is so realistic. It looks like the 3 soldiers are stepping out of the jungle. You cool read the expression on the soldiers face and could not project how difficult it had been for this generation

I finally took my kids to see the Vietnam memorial... and all I can say is that the statue puts an appropriate period at the end of the experience.

At one end of the Wall Memorial, an addition testament to the soldiers of the Vietnam era; really part of a 3-piece memorial with the wall and Women’s memorial. Similar to the Korean Memorial, it gives you a chill to really look at it. Worth a visit.

Just near the Vietnam memorial, a very realistic statue of 3 soldiers walking out of a jungle. Should have read a bit more of the history of it.

This is just outside the entrance to the Vietnam wall memorial. It is of 3 soldiers. The statue has a lot of detail. There is nothing else to see at this memorial. The statues are well done.
