This massive structure is not only historical but surreal. It makes one think of all the great historical political figures that made great speeches in front of it. The site also provide great views for pictures both during the day and at night.

I can think of no other place to visit, with as much in view. We enjoyed the speeches inscribed on the wall and a view up the reflecting pool toward the Washington Monument. It is surrounded by the WWII, Korean War and Vietnam War Memorials. Put it on the list of priorities.

It's definitely a must see when in DC, plus you get a beautiful view of the monument from there too! It's jus history you wanna experience when in DC! I prefer daytime because you can see a lot from up there!

Loved this awesome statue of Lincoln. His speeches are carved on the walls as a legacy to his presidency.

I've been to the Lincoln Memorial before, decades ago, but this time as we arrived a band was playing below the plaza. I decided to wait till I had seen the monument to investigate but they were gone by then. Still, it added to the aura of the place. I've got to go at dawn or twilight on my next... More

Few people visit anything but the front steps and entrance of the Memorial. You're missing something special if you don't walk the marble, columned, elevated path that surrounds the Lincoln Memorial once you hit the top of the stairs. Bring a picnic and sit on the backside facing the Potomac and Arlington Cemetery. You'll feel a million miles away from... More
