We stayed there four nights. The park is beautiful but you really need to scout out the sites before you make reservations. Some have no shade at all, some are actually almost muddy. The county should put gravel in the camping areas to dry them up some. Our site was only about 10 foot from the fire ring so we... More

Chickahominy Riverfront park was a good pick for us. Our scout troop was supposed to spend a week camp at a local scout camp. The scout camp informed us that they overbooked by mistake and we could not come. Instead of cancelling our trip we decided to camp at Chickahominy. We had sites 223 and 225. One was a full... More

Pros: Setting was beautiful, Sites were large, Pool was clean, well guarded, not crowded, Convenient to all local attractions. Cons: The bathhouse was functional but filthy I would love to recommend the park but unless you have an RV I have to advise a person to pass.

Went boating on this river with friends on July 4th, and we were almost the only ones there as the weather forecast had just cleared. I have been to Williamsburg countless times, but never been here. We did not spend much time at the park itself, so I can't attest to the camping conditions, but I did see campsites which... More

Well this is the 3rd time we stayed here in our 25 foot traveling camper. Twice in 2015 and just left May 2, 2016. This place has full hook-ups. We meet my daughter( who was in the marines) and son in law ( who is still serving) from NC. It's a good half point from PA ( we drive alittle... More

I came to this park when I biked on part of the Capital bike trail. There's a parking lot with restrooms and water fountains close to the access point for the trail, which was nice since there aren't really any facilities on much of the trail. The park also has a playground and a picnic shelter (in addition to campgrounds... More

This is a fantastic river with few homes built on it, which adds to the all-nature feel. Our family owns a pontoon boat that is kept at River's Rest Marina. River is dead quiet during week and decently busy on weekends, but even on weekends it is extremely enjoyable. A couple of places on shoreline have nice nature beaches that... More

We spent the weekend at the campground and had a great time. Great views from the site, great location about halfway between Jamestown Settlement and Charles City courthouse so if you are a bike rider you can go either way on the Capital Trail. The campground was very quiet and family friendly. There were fire rings and picnic tables in... More

Stayed at the campground in a pop-up, beautiful place right along the river. Campground wasn't busy at all, about 50% capacity. Park itself is a nice place to visit. Campsite 333 is un-level so stay away from that if in R/V. The bad thing... the bathrooms weren't cleaned the whole 4 days we were there.

My family visited the site and enjoyed the time. The kids loved the enormous playground and there were alot of clean sites. There is a driving range and the entertainment for our weekend was dog races taking place. Was also a great location to launch the kayaks. Will definately be returning.
