Measurements told us a 2014 Chevy 3500 would make it though the narrowest 8'4" wide tunnel and it did! (No trailer) Not saying it wasn't a tight fit though...go slow for sure! No paint was scuffed so I'm calling it a success. Beautiful winding road...More

It's a beautiful drive through the pine trees. The Needes are picturesque so bring your camera. At the top you can see Eye of the Needle. Very scenic, views are absolutely gorgeous.

This highway through the Black Hills is a terrific scenic drive. The road provides numerous great photo opportunities and vistas, along with twisty and curvy sections.

Incredible drive from Mt Rushmore through Custer State Park and the Needles Highway and on out through Deadwood, Lead, and the Spearfish Canyon out to I90. Take your time, drive carefully as its a narrow winding road but extremely scenic.

A must see after Mount Rushmore. Extremely cool rock formations. You can see both in one day. Great drive.

We have a 32 foot camper trailer we'll have hooked up to our truck. Is it possible to drive Needles with the camper attached?
