My husband contacted Sea Kayak for lessons for our anniversary and we were excited at the prospect of trying this out. We recently moved to Charleston and had never been kayaking (we are generally beach lovers). We initially met with Joe and Bev in their great store and they took us through an initial "on land " instruction on the... More

The employees are highly knowledgable about the sport of kayaking. From the items I've purchased to the tours and classes I've participated in, I've never been disappointed in the service. I usually purchase items from online sources where the prices are lower. However, I found the prices at Sea Kayak Carolina to be comparable to anything I could fine online.... More

We took, (husband and I) the intruduction to kayaking class at Sea Kayak Carolina. William and Bev were our instructors. I am terrified of water even though I can swim so this class was particularly great for me. They taught us the parts of the kayak, how to hold the paddle and the correct paddling strucks for kayaking forward, backwards,... More

Don was an awesome (and humorous) guide and we had a great time. The day we went was a bit windy and there were some waves. Both my partner and I are complete beginners, so naturally everybody was a bit apprehensive. Don made sure to check in with us about our comfort level throughout the whole trip and clearly placed... This is great for couples or families. There is a 20 minute safety class before you get in the water. They make every effort to make sure you are safe while having a good time on the water. We also saw dolphins... literally surfaced 5 feet from my kayak. Go Army

SKC offers great instruction, skills courses and tours. Their skills programs have allowed me to progress and besides the great ACA Instructor Coaches on the Staff they bring in the best from around the globe. 17+ years of kayaking and they rank in the top 2. So if you are just getting started or have been paddling for sometime the... More

My partner and I had heard that we could go kayaking on the river estuarys down in Charleston area, and hada chance to some dolphins up close and personal. I got the job of checking out various sites to see what was available. I have not done much kayaking, so needed a set up that accommodated my expertise. The guys... More

I have been itching to take my daughters kayaking and a recent trip to Charleston provided the perfect occasion. I didn't think my parents would be interested in joining us (my mom just a hair over age 60 and my dad is 65) so I mentioned to them that they could enjoy a leisurely lunch in Charleston and some shopping... My two teenage sons and I spent a morning out on the water with Sea Kayak Carolina in the week between Christmas and New Year. I was very impressed by their set up, equipment and attitude. For my youngest son it was his first kayak trip in his own kayak (tandem previously) and our guide was very encouraging and supportive... More
