Coming from California I wasn't prepared for the size of this lake which is more of a land locked ocean. You can't see across it which was mind boggling to me, but then again it is the 2nd largest lake in the US. Nice beaches and rock hunting as well. The water was cold, but ok for my toes.

A nice place to get away from typical city living! Early spring and fall, once the kiddos have gone back to school, make for great uncrowded beach time on Presque Isle. The beaches are a bit crowded and littered during peak summer hours. Last tim I visited was a warm April day and the beach was practically ours all day.... More

We visited Lake Erie on our way home from Niagra Falls. It's such a beautiful place. It was very clean and peaceful. We enjoyed visiting the lighthouse and going to the top of it. The beaches are nice. We had a wonderful time.

As a child my family spent nearly every weekend at Pymatuning. My dad and my uncles would come to Erie during the day while us kids fished or swam in Pymatuning. We were never allowed to come to Erie with dad because we were to small. Coming here now....it's amazing. The views...wildlife...just everything. My dog loves going to the marina... More
