I rode the trail on 90 degree day from White Haven to Rockport using Whitewater Challengers bike rental and shuttle service. Despite the heat the trail is pretty shady and the river I think keeps it cooler. The trail is smooth, it wasn't crowded and there are great views of the river and old locks. I love nearby but have... More

Some of us were shuttled (those who rented bikes) and some of us rode to Rockport. We left one vehicle in Jim Thorpe..it was about .5hr ride to Rockport (the only restroom until you get back to JT) which is the 15 mile trail ride..smooth, flat trail thru nature's Beaty...some of the trail was along the rail line..shaded areas, picnic... After 6 years of talking about doing this, hubby and I finally did the bike trail from white haven to glen Onoko, "only" 21.3 miles as opposed to the entire 24/25 miles into Jim Thorpe. We shuttled ourselves with 2 vehicles and parked at glen Onoko since parking in Jim Thorpe is ridiculous. We used our own bikes so the... More

I am not a biker by any stretch of the imagination, but I had no trouble completing the 25 mile ride. Flat, smooth, wide trail. Shady and breezy as you ride. Took us about 2.5 hours but we only stopped briefly. Lots of picnic tables but make sure you bring food/drink along with you as there is nowhere to get... More

We arrived at Jim Thorpe location. Bike rental, shuttle bus, right next to train station and parking. 6$ to park the car. Please arrive at least 45 min prior shuttle bus departure, we arrived 30 min earlier, an nearly missed it, as staff was very busy helping Many customers. We rented bikes, and caboose for our 5 year old, bikes... More

We were there on a day with a rescue going on - someone was climbing to the top water fall and had an accident - lots of fire rescue trucks with television coverage. So we were only able to go part of the way because the path had been closed until the rescue could be wrapped up. We were able... More

This was something on my bucket list I wanted to do and I did it. I climbed Glen Onoko Falls. Yes it is a little tough and not for really young kids. My son made it to the first big fall and was done. Me I went all the way to the top. I would recommend hiking boots and a... More

We walked this trail, by lack of open bike rentals. Almost nobody walked or biked the trail so we were completely isolated from civilization, which was great. The river flowing in the background.

Took a delightful 25 mile ride on a sunny fall day and enjoyed the spectacularly colored foliage. The trail was very well maintained with no pot holes. Tightly packed gravel mostly with a few leaves scattered about. Was there on a weekday so absolutely not crowded. Plan to do it again this year.

My friend and I cycled this 25 mile rail trail from White Haven to Jim Thorpe and thoroughly enjoyed the route. This section is an extremely well-maintained crushed stone trail with a slight decrease in elevation going from White Haven to Jim Thorpe. It is important to note there are no vendors on the route, so bring your own water... More
