Living so close to Lake Erie, I sometimes forget that it is a wonderful vacation destination. From the source of the Niagara River to the Pennsylvania border (and beyond) there are incredible scenery, interesting parks and beaches, dunes, trails, fishing, lighthouses, historical sites, et cetera, et cetera. You should come and see.

We stopped at Woodlawn Beach on Lake Erie on our way home from Toronto. It was a nice little beach area with a tiki bar, snack shop and changing area. It was interesting to see such a nice little area right in the middle of a city. The beach itself had nice sand and was no rocky or hilly to walk through. The water was warmer than I expected it to be. There were boats and people fishing. Looks like a nice place to stay!

Lake Erie is really beautiful. You can fish, pack a picnic or take a walk along the banks. It's a great area to just go and be outside!

well, this is sort of an odd listing, an attraction several hundred miles long, never thought of it that way... this is, basically, America's "North Coast" and in the basically four-day drive from Toledo to Malone, there's a vista available within every four-five miles... in New York State stick first to Route 5, which follows the line eastward from Erie and then, after Youngstown in the northwest corner, on along Route 18, which offers some terrific views and sunsets

Saw this state park along Highway 5 and thought I was in PA but not. What a nice wooded location along the shore of Lake Erie. Lots of open space with picnic and camping grounds. Being Autumn, there was an explosion of vivid colors in the trees. Had a wonderful picnic lunch. The park having clean restrooms and being patrolled by Park Rangers was an added bonus.
