If you're a sportsman and are curious to see where a lot of the fish you catch are from this is something to see. Dogs are allowed if they're kept on a leash. there's also fishing opportunities in the area on the river that runs by the hatchery. I'm not saying you should make a special trip to go see... More

My husband and I went to the Red River Fish Hatchery mid-week. We spend about 45 minutes, feeding the rainbow trout, walking around the fish tanks and watching the river. This is supposed to be the largest hatchery in NM. We were not real impressed but had a good time. Several other vehicles came and went while we were there.... More

We arrived at the fish hatchery, and there is no one there but the fish. The large fish that you can feed are in a little pond that you can walk around. There was a coin operated fish food dispenser, but we had no coins. There was a change making machine, but it was out of order, so by daughter... More

We went off the beaten path to Geocache near this fish hatchery. We were very surprised how nice it was. The best thing about it was the road getting to it. There are nice picnic areas right off the road and free roaming cows. Yes, cows! Not something you expected to find in the middle of a forest. Too bad... More
