Wow!!! Best campground/state park experience ever. Yes the scenery is gorgeous and the water is crystal clear and so soothing. The showers are hot and we’ll maintained. But the real reason we stayed 3 nights instead of 1 is because of the AWESOME ranger Jen!! She is so much fun, incredibly charismatic, and an overall joy to see in the evenings when she does her rounds on the campground. Jen was knowledgeable about the area and other parks in the state we should visit, and her enthusiastic personality made staying here a blast. She loves Maine and the parks and it shows!!! We will be coming back many times specifically because of her!

I have been coming to Sebago Lake for close to 10 years. However, we only discovered Frye's Leap Cafe two summers ago! I'll tell you it is a hole in the wall and a hidden gem all in one. Since discovering the cafe and meeting the new owners, we have become regulars at the cafe! They have everything from 12 beers on draught to pizza, sandwiches, and seafood. Not to mention their delicious frozen mudslides. The best thing about it is the view of the lake from the front deck! The sunsets are unbelievable, and a breakfast buffet on Saturday and Sunday mornings puts it over the top! I haven't had a bad experience yet, they always make our time on the lake even more enjoyable with their outstanding service and delicious food. If you're looking for a pizza and beer break, or a sit-down meal with the family, Frye's Leap Cafe is the place to be!

This is a large body of water, while smaller than NH's Winnepesaukee, it's weather can be more severe due to being so open. While Winnie has all the coves, Sebago has more of a treat to the boater. 43 miles of water to explore. Yes you get Sebago, Brandy Pond and Long Lake all accessible via the Songo river. You can travel thru the oldest and probably the last manually operated lock. In order to fully appreciate this lake you should head out to the middle and enjoy the 2650 view of Maine's Hills and New Hampshire's White Mountains range. You can stay in a B&B, Motel, camps etc. There is plenty to do if you just head onto route 302. There's eateries, mini golf, ice cream joints, Naples has a nice boardwalk. The infrastructure is there and if you want smaller lakes there are plenty in the area. Those work out well too, you get the feeling of being in the middle of nowhere yet you are within a 15 minutes drive to everything. Yes even a Walmart, Lowes and Home Depot are available to you.

This campground is immaculate! It has large spacious sites , large clean showers and bathroom, a large pool, a lazy river with a beach that is perfect for small children to play in , can kayak for long distances . It is just .5miles from the State Park which is on the Lake. It is very inexpensive with cable , wifi, laundry facilities. It is under new owners who are doing a great job ! I went for a weekend and loved it so much I am going back for a week with my grandkids.

I had an extraordinary experience with Long Lake Marina in Naples, Maine.
I rented a 20' Bayliner for four days for my three kids and I to enjoy on Sebago Lake- Monday-Thursday. Unfortunately, the weather was TERRIBLE on Monday and Thursday. Long Lake Marina gave me a credit for Monday and Thursday, so I only paid for the days we used. This allowed me the budget to bring the kids elsewhere.. indoor bounce parks, dinners etc. If they hadn't been so kind, our vacation wouldn't have been so wonderful.
Also, the speedboat was AMAZING. The nicest boat on Sebago Lake that weekend. Even the guy at the Marina gas station was admiring it, asking us about how fast etc.
Amazing service, amazing people- a kind, honest business with integrity.
I WILL go out of my way to buy my boat there when I'm ready within the next year or two. What comes around, goes around so I'll definitely be back.

As grandparents we spent a week in South Portland with our daughter, son-in-law and four grandchildren aged 4 to 11. We hired a boat which had very comfortable seating, got a brief lesson how the boat operated and off we went. None of us had previous experience of boating but this was not a problem. We also hired a dingy which we kept on board until we were well out into the lake and then launched the dingy which was tied to our boat. The four children (two younger ones were required to wear life jackets) had one of most enjoyable experiences of their lives as had their mum and dad and grandfather also enjoyed a high speed tow over the clear water. I did not find it easy to get up on top of the dingy but this was no problem to the children. We all enjoyed refreshments which we took along and spent the entire day on the lake. I love to swim and I never enjoyed a more pleasant swim in my life. The water was not at all cold. You will be given a map of the lake and I would strongly recommend that you bring along a small simple compass. Even with a map it is easy to lose you bearings and a compass will ensure that you will be certain of always knowing to head west and north/south on your return to base. There are life jackets on board for older children and adults. One of the most memorable and enjoyable days I have ever spent.

i stayed for 2 nights early in the week. most of the people staying were in the sights along the water but the rest were mostly vacant. the sites were large and very quiet. the bathrooms were clean and the showers had free hot water. the staff were all friendly and helpful. their beach at the campgounds was nice with a clean lake to swim in. the water is cold but that is expected this far north. i was staying here to be close to the portland area. it was about a 40 minute drive to get to portland through speed zones of 30-45 mph. the one thing i did not like about the local driver's is they all ride your bumper. this is a bad and annoying habit that seems to be the way they drive. beyond that there were no negatives.

There are many areas in which to enjoy Sebago Lake. An absolute favorite is the state park, which is two miles off Rt. 302 Casco/Naples. My parents brought me there as a kid, I brought my kids there and my husband and I go frequently now.
One of the reasons it's so popular is that many Mainers consider it the cleanest water in the state. It actually is the primary water supply for the Portland Water District.
Another reason the beach is great is that it offers a wonderful balance of both sun and shade. The state park beach is long and narrow and you are amongst the pines. There are myriad picnic tables and grills and like most, it is carry in/carry out. Life guards are on duty. In the past few years, they have upgraded to new restrooms in two different areas.
Sebago Lake is clear and the water refreshing. There are little families of ducks that swim around, and many are brazen and come right on the beach near you.
There are lots of boats and jet skis on the water and renting a boat is accessible at the marina on Rt. 302 in Naples. The old boating house burned and currently an enormous boating house is under construction.
The lake is connected to Brandy Pond, which houses a campground. Brandy Pond is connected to Long Lake in Naples, which is another area in itself. There are also at least two campgrounds on Sebago Lake.
Well worth checking out if coming to southwestern Maine.

This area of Maine is gorgeous. We went in a boat and took a tour of the lakes (small, middle, and large). The scenery, the homes, the blue, blue water.......just gorgeous. Most boats just putter around, cause there is so much to take in. Did some night catch and release fishing - great! Staying in a converted boat house of our families. It is so cozy and comfy. Loving it.

The park opens at 9 am and the beaches (east and central both) are full by 10:30 so come early if you want some space. There is a snack bar, bathhouse and restrooms that are all well maintained and this state park, as all of them in Maine, are clean and well kept. Remember to be prepared to pack in and pack out, no garbage cans onsite. The swimming area is roped off and lifeguards are on duty on the weekend and holidays. With no wind, the swimming is very docile, and the water is crystal clear. As long as you don't mind lots of people really close to you, this state park is perfect for kids.
