This is a great rec spot. Part of a greater chunk of land that encompasses land between the lakes. The whole area is a huge nature preserve with a bunch of rednecks thrown in just to make sure the wildlife doesn't get too used to a peaceful setting. There's a bunch of camping spots where people rough it by having... More

Great hidden gem in the middle of KY, near the Tennessee border. So many things to do, huge boating paradise, fishing, hunting, vacation spot. Amazing bird watching including lots of bald eagles. Great hiking trails, hidden restaurant gems. Great family trip!

We were just passing through here on our way to our honeymoon cabin in Hot Springs, NC. We stopped here for a geocache. It was so beautiful we did a little more research and really hope we can come back to take it all in someday.

Found a great place to eat and relax. Buzzards Rock. Super place. Good food. Summer time has bands playing on weekends.

This place was a beautiful, hidden oasis in Cadiz, KY. We came here for our Family Reunion. The lodge we stayed in could use some updates. The price for food at the lodge restaurant was a little overrated. If you decide to travel away from here to get food, you are looking at about a 20 – 30 minute drive.... More

We rented a pontoon boat and spent the day on lake Barkley. The coves are clean and the shores of the land between the lakes are undeveloped and pristine. Several deer watched us from the the sandy shores as we anchored in the coves and went swimming. We are used to smaller lakes in Michigan where lake shores are completely... More

Lake barkley was great. Rented a boat from prizer pointe out of lake barkley marina. Be careful on lake because in many places the depth is shallow even out in center.

Lake Barkley Lodge (Kentucky State Park) has a very good fireworks display every Fourth. The Lodge serves a buffet dinner. The park itself is beautiful with good boating, fishing, hiking, etc. Many activities for all ages. Also sleeping accommodations. It is a nice vacation place, especially in spring, summer, and fall.
