On our drive from Twin Falls to the Tin Cup Trailhead, we made a quick stop at the Galena Summit Overlook. It was around 8 am, the temperature was around 25 and it was quite windy on Tuesday, 9/8. There was no one around and there was plenty of parking. The views don't really do the Sawtooth Mountains any justice. We opted to hike to Alice Lake to get better views of the Sawtooth Mountains.…

The road to the summit from both the North and South are full of curves, so it's a little hard to see the views, but just North of it is a large parking area where you must stop to take photos of the jagged peaks and enjoy the fantastic views.

This place is absolutely beautiful. Be down for a long drive and road trip and it’s 100% worth it! Elevation just below 9,000 at this point!

Note - this is a review for the summit, not the lodge (it has its own reviews). The summit is gorgeous and an easy drive from Ketchum and Stanley. Best views are near sunset and sunrise. Watch out for animals along the way. We were stopped by deer in the road (especially at night) a couple times. Beautiful views with a couple of pullouts near the summit.…
