great summertime cool-down in the river
Jul 2018 • Friends
Many spots along this river are accessible and great places to picnic and rest especially on hot days as the water is quite chilly. @ spots that I enjoy have been Bull's Sluice, to watch the whitewater rafters, and Woodall Shoals. Bull's Sluice is an easy walk from the parking lot but can be risky for small children because of the pace of the water, it's fast. Woodall Shoals is a little flatter and water seem slower with plenty of calm spots for wading and swimming. Of the 2 spots I like Woodall Shoals for longer visits. Careful though as we came across a decent sized rattlesnake, one of my group almost stepped on it. Fortunately it must have been just chilling because it made no attempt to strike. The Shoals has plenty of flat rock areas for sitting and laying down for naps.

Cool down with nature
Jul 2017 • Family
We had company visit and decided to go on an adventure to check this place out. Needless to say, we came back the very next day!
The water is clean and cool. Be sure it's warm outside before you climb in...
You can choose the beach area or be an adventure and go to the right, climb a little ways down, and play in the water there. It's beautiful.
We like to float from the right path down to the beach.
No inflatables allowed.

Fun raft for experienced rafers
Apr 2016 • Couples
I love white water rafting and have done the Chattooga, Ocene, and Natanagga a few times. The Chattooga is the best of the three if you have experience. Section 4 might be a little rough for smaller kids. Nevertheless, it's a fun river. If you want the higher class rapids go for this one. I wouldn't recommed starting on section 4 if you've never been rafting.

Fishing on the Chatooga River
Jul 2016 • Friends
This is one remote fishing area. I took FS Road 464 to the bridge crossing the river at the GA/SC border. It is a 7 mile gravel road which was not marked. So from Clayton, Ga. take Warwoman Rd. for 14 miles then turn right on GA HWY 28 and go 1.6 miles and you will see a gravel road on the left, no marker so be on the lookout. Some say it is also Burrells Ford Rd but that is when it crosses the river at the bridge. Mostly there is no cell service, so beware. The vistas on Warwoman Rd are breathtaking and beautiful farms and homes that have been around for quite some time. There are a few shops, antique and collectibles, to break up the drive. Once on the gravel road enjoy the solitude and pristine surroundings. There are trails and a parking area at the bridge. You only need one fishing license from either state as long as you fish along the river. Was only able to catch two under sized trout but well worth finding a new spot. There is some good history on Warwoman and about the area. You will pass Warwoman Dell along the way, and a Bartram Trail historic marker. At times you feel like you are back in time.

Our family with 7 adults, 1 older child, and 1 teenager had a great time hiking in and playing on the river. I would recommend hiking in with boots/tennis shoes and having water shoes. There are no bathroom facilities.

Best White Water in GA
May 2015 • Friends
Friendly and great service the moment you step in the door.

Caring and experienced guides who are so incredibly knowledgeable that makes you wish every guide was this cool.

My guide Paul Speed, is hands down the best tour guide I have ever had in any tour ever. The tour guide leader, Link, was also incredibly charismatic and personable.

Paul makes it his personal mission make sure everyone has a good a time possible while keeping everyone safe.

Through and through would do again (5 out of 5) perhaps even try their Over Night camping& Whitewater expedition.

An awesome adventure
Sep 2014
Whitewater rafting with Southeast Expeditions was an incredible time. My guide, Paul Speed, was incredibly knowledgeable about the river, all its features, and how to navigate them, as well as made the entire trip a lot of fun in general. This was my seventh time whitewater rafting, and this was by far the best guide I have had.

Everything was GREAT! The weather was beautiful. The water was cool. The guides were friendly and informative, even the bus driver; there was a 10 minute drive to and from the sight.
Nutritious lunch was included. Great outing for family, friends, coworkers; anybody!

Amazing!!! <3 SOUTHEASTERN EXPEDITIONS!!!!
Jun 2014
My husband, I, and some friends went on a motorcycle trip last week. This was BY FAR the highlight of the trip for everyone! I was nervous about class 4and 5 rapids as a 2nd timer. Our raft guide, Paul, was awesome!! Knew the river like the back of his hand. And he was very fun and entertaining. Our raft guide-in-training, Anna, was equally as awesome, fun, and savvy. We had an absolute blast!! I look at our pics and think "holy crap- I did that" but at the time you think "ok LET'S GO!! Nothing to it". I'm bragging on Paul and Anna, but the whole crew of guides were great. Awesome lunch, pics, atmosphere. Well be back for the overnight. TEAM AWESOME!!! Woooop wooooop :D
