The park guide at the National Seashore told us about this park. It is the wastewater wetlands of Orlando. You can walk the park anytime, but on Friday and Saturday they have tours on a small tram. The birds and water vegetation in found in few other areas. There are osprey, eagles, storks, all kinds of ducks and small birds,... More

WOW. This place was fabulous. We were just driving and my husband noticed a sign and we stopped. Had no idea how large this place was. You can walk the miles and miles of trails or take a free tram ride. We started out walking and the tram picked us up. If you haven't been I would recommend the tram... More

This is an amazing park that was man made and created to treat water. It is now open year round (used to be closed Nov - Jan). There is very little shade so be prepared. There are bathrooms and water fountain and pavilions at the entrance. Don't miss the overlook - you get 360 views of the park that are... More

I got up early yesterday to bring my mother-in-law (67), son-in-law (24), and my two sons (16 and 9) out for a walk in a natural setting. We were amazed by the abundance of wildlife. The number of birds and the variety of species would have been enough to keep us in awe, but this place has lots of alligators,... More

In Christmas, FL... ample parking, clean restrooms, picnic areas and the Wetlands Trails. The trails are as long or short as you want them to be, gravel but even, this is a nice walk throughout the wetlands and if you want a longer walk towards the back, then through pines and hardwoods. This is a nature lover's dream and should... More

Alligators, birds of human scale and drunken dragonflies. This place, that is home to Orlando's wastewater is the most peaceful, soul-settling place I know. In addition to the aforementioned animals, it also counts deer, otters, the occasional bear, bobcats, raccoons and other small fauna among its residents. There are countless snakes and alligators living in their natural habitat, and largely... More

We ended up here by accident on our drive to Orlando, and liked it a lot. It gave almost a prehistorical feeling with the swamps and mangroves. We saw a lot of different kind of birds, and got great pictures as well. At first we didn't see any alligators, but when I went to stand closer to water to see... More

We saw a great variety of birds at OWP. It was our second day in Florida and we managed to see several species there that we had missed the first day. The trails are well maintained. A definite must-do if birding in that area.

We were introduced to the Orlando Wetlands Park through the 16th Annual Orlando Wetlands Festival held once a year in February. I was blown away by the wildlife in this park. We must have seen at least twenty alligators while there, and the amount of waterfowl we saw was mind-blowing! It was so inspiring to see something that man created... More

We heard about this on the television one morning whilst on holiday in Orlando, so decided to give it a go. My wife and I like bird watching and the children enjoy a walk so it sounded like a refreshing break from the Disney chaos. Read a few comments on TA so knew there the facilities were basic, so went... More
