We drove north from San Francisco and stayed in Benbow Inn nearby. Early Sunday morning we drove the route from the southern end-stopping off at the various pull-ins. The trees are amazing in fact the are somewhat surreal. Words can't describe how amazing the 4/5 hour visit was! We could have made a longer visit staying longer at each stop... More

Make sure to stop at Founders Grove!!! Truly amazing!! Go on the hike of the grove, grab a brochure explaining the different numbers you will encounter during the short hike (just a little over .5 miles). Take time to stand next to one of the Giants and look straight up the tree.

This is the quick and easy tour of the magnificent coastal redwoods. The trees are awe inspiring and the sound of the quiet is deafening.

So pretty. A warm summer day, top down on the car...so green and cool. Make sure you leave enough time to stop the car and go for a walk in the forest.

This is a must do drive when visiting the redwoods. It is jaw droppingly beautiful and well worth the extra time to drive it instead of the 101. It is difficult to describe how breathtaking the trees are and there are many stopping points at which to get up close and personal with these giants. There are also hiking trails... More

Pictures and words will not adequately prepare you for this experience! Drive carefully, stop often, look, listen, and walk amongst the giants!

We landed in Sacramento Airport and headed into our vacation. A drive north on 101 into Washington State. This was the first attraction I had marked on our list. WOW! So glad I did. This drive is breathtaking with all the massive trees. Traffic was light so we could go at our own pace making it even more relaxing and... More

We just visited this area again after 20 years, and it's still spectacular. The hiking is great and the trees are big. Stay the night in Ferndale and go on to Prairie Creek for even better though.

Worth the drive down from Arcata where we were staying. Hadn't been here in 31 years, and really enjoyed seeing it again. Several areas to get out and see the beauty of the redwoods.

We rented a car and drove from Seattle to San Fransisco over spring break. The Avenue of the Giants was on our list of things to see on the way. It was an honor to be among those gorgeous, majestic redwoods. As we drove we stopped and walked some of the many marked trails. There are some great photo opportunities... More
