If you're on US 101 near the Avenue and have some time, don't bypass it. It will be one of the most magical times of your life. It's about 20 miles and you don't have to do it all - but you should. You can pull off the road in many spots, let your mind go with it and have... More

This is a 31 mile stretch of highway you want to drive at 25 mph and stop every few hundred yards to get out and walk with these Giants. Their size is amazing as well as the various ground covers that are on the forest bed. Great photographic images at every turn. With the wind you can stand and listen... More

We took this scenic route on our way up the coast. It was such a beautiful drive. The trees are majestic and the whole feel is aew-inspiring. The sun can barely get through and it's cool and quiet when you step out of the car. The road is narrow and many trees are growing right to the edge of the... More

The Avenue of the Giants is my favorite drive! The stops along the way allow us to see the magnificence of these giant redwoods. I went on a Friday afternoon in September and we owned the road, making stops and tree gazing that much easier. I highly recommend!

We had seen the trees to the north of Eureka and we felt we should also go south. The trees were less dense but equally spectacular. The drive was easy and there were plenty of places to park. The fallen trees with their massive roots were amazing.

Use the pullouts and stops along the way to stand next to these monsters and be grateful that they are here for use to appreciate. The size of the trees and the magical quietness of the surroundings are absolutely spectacular. Witnessing these gigantic trees that are over 2000 years old are truly humbling. The whole forest is silent as people want around in complete awe of the sights that they are be-holding. Couldn't recommend it more, such an amazing place to visit. Traveller tip -... More

A wonderful and inspiring trip in nature. Trees that r so tall that the tops are not visible. Makes u realize how small we are in comparison.

Fantastic place - would recommend to anyone that this be put on their list of places to be visited - even driving through without getting out of the car was beautiful.
