After walking in the Redwoods @ Armstrong, we drove 20 minutes west to the Coast to the seaside town of Jenner & saw this site looking out with giant rocks by the big wide sky, stretch of sandy beach with quite a few people down there kayaking or hanging out @ the beach. This must be the Russian River meet... More

It's beautiful. We stopped here because The Goonies ending was filmed here. The road leading to goat rock beach is takes you through other beaches and it almost seems like maybe you are on the wrong road but just keep going. The scenic drive is beautiful and great for pictures or hanging out on the beach. Bring a sweater because... More

The views of the Pacific from the top ledges are spectacular. Rocks jetting out with waves crashing... Plenty of areas to pull off and view. Well worth the trip

Wonderful roaring water at two beaches and sand bar with lounging seals. It was so cold and windy the last time we went, we sat in the car watching the waves powerhouse toward the shore, crashing over rocks. it was thrilling! Where we were parked was a portapotty.

This beach is a great stepping off point. We stayed in Windsor, drove the back roads along the Russian River out to Goat Rock Beach. Lots of rock outcroppings, great place to walk and play in the surf. Beautiful!

This is a great beach for doing stuff. Looking through the drift wood, finding crab claws washed up. Looking out to sea for seals and Pelicans. A spot of fishing maybe or just digging a really big hole. This is NOT a swimming in the sea or sunbathing beach though, it can get foggy and a bit chilly. The car... More

We got to this beach pretty late in the day and the lighting was perfect. Saw some baby seals and lots of birds - a great walk.

Through July you can see where the baby seals are borne. Great beach, easy parking with a restrooms at the parking area. The beach itself is spectacular but a short walk by the mouth of the Russian River is where you can see moms and baby seals as the get strong enough to go out to the ocean.

Top on my list of US 2014 visit highlights! It was truly awesome to have seen this place. It was such a wonderful sight! I couldn't contain myself from the car too long and was so glad we finally stopped. Our friend upped the experience a bit more by bringing in some picnic items, a blanket, cherries, wine and cheese.... More
