Amazing creation

While it would be a site to see when it was just a canyon and no dam, the lake is wonderful nestled amongst the natural formations.

We drove down to the marina to be told it was a $30 entry fee. Tip: if you are going to do a few National Parks, purchase the Park pass as the entry fees are between $20-30 each park. We didn't end up going down onto Lake Powell but got some great photos from other viewpoints. Would like to spend... More

I had no idea what to expect seeing a man-made lake in the desert. The lake is HUGE and because of its size it seems deserted. There are amazing houseboats that you can rent for the week at the marina. You can also rent boats and jetskis.

We rented a luxury houseboat for 5 days, the 62' journey , I paid $6800 plus deposit . I talked my elderly parents into going on the trip thinking it would be a once in a life time trip . We arrived at the lake and I walked down to the marina to check in , I explained to them... More

What a great family reunion on the houseboat. The scenery was so gorgeous and breathtaking it is hard to describe. The water was crystal clear. The houseboat itself could use some TLC. It was badly beaten up and overused. The AC does not work and the bedrooms were too hot to sleep in so we slept on the top deck... More

3-day Lake Powell Trip 08/13/16-08/15/16 Lake Powell Absolutely wonderful and stunningly beautiful. Water, geological formations, everything was amazing. Anchored houseboat in Gunsight Bay just off Padre Bay and it was very calm as compared to the main channel (due to wind). Not much sand over there and there is A LOT of mud on the shoreline. However, we really didn't... More

It's beautiful indeed, but not a lot more than that. To drive by this scene would have been enough for me. The place is a bit too desolate and the marina seems to be out of place. A combination of 'bad taste' water sporting and beautiful man made landscaping. Just less interesting than all natures wonders so nearby.

Recently returned from Lake Powell and thought I’d share the experience. Some of this might seem too basic for you really experienced people out there. This is my fifth or maybe sixth time out on the lake, this time again on a 48 foot Navigator rented out of Wahweap. I have rented this boat before and prefer either it or... More

In between hiking the national parks, our kids needed time to cool off, relax and have fun. Lake Powell provided all that and more! We spent time on Lone Rock Beach, which was beautiful, but nothing compared to renting a boat (we used All In in Big Water, UT) and spending the day on the water. We knee boarded (or... More

We have vacationed and rented houseboats 3 different times here at Lake Powell - the most wonderful, relaxing, screen-free vacations!! This past trip, I'm disappointed because Bullfrog Marina no longer offers decent speedboat rentals (the only one available is the 19 foot outboard motor boat), and our 75 foot houseboat had severe maintenance issues. So, my advice would be to... More
