On an organized tour we had time to wander through Trinidad and found Ivan Basso's shop. Fell in love with an acrylic painting and my wife let me buy it. Lots of colour and very original, happy painting. Up on the wall in our library now.

I visited here and it was great...however..it's the street vendor that captivated me more....an old man (to the top of the hill) worked hard to set up his tent and show his wooden box that had a trick opening! I loved how grateful everyone was when you did buy something...and willingness to bargain.…

Give it a chance! It appears to be a hotch-potch of everything, take time to look;even if Cuban art is not your thingit gives a window on another culture. It needs timeand an open mind.

The place is a hodge-podge of souvenirs, clothes and art (?). To be honest I'm no big fan of contemporary Cuban art which seldom seems original.

What a wonderful place to explore and learn of the new Caribbean new spot that is a must see. And a charmer spoiled by the cuisine and fresh catch as well as so much to see, you never know what the local traditions and common yet new hid away from the times before .
