Our tour guide took several of us on this hike. Very nice hike with a couple of rocky/hilly climbs. Crossed the stream two times by holding onto a cable while walking on the rocks. Our guide pointed out several species of birds, including the Cuban national bird. If you go, go EARLY. This place becomes a traffic jam later in the day.

Spent the morning here as part of our tour. We had the use of a knowlegeable local guide, who pointed out the local flora and fauna. Over a rope bridge, following a river, sometimes the path is smooth and flat, other times climbing up some gentle rocky hills, around 4-5 kilometres each way. Stopped in an isolated farmers hut midway for a cup of brew. The destination is a waterfall, rockpool and the chance to do a spot of swimming before heading back. Very enjoyable easy paced ramble through some delightful countryside. On return to the start, we had a buffet style lunch, with some very sweet coffee.

About 10 minutes from the center of Trinidad (by car), entry costs 10 dollars per person and is worth it for the infrastructure. Quiet trail (+or- 1 hour) even for those with children or elderly people. And the waterfall is beautiful! Amazing color, a cave on the side and perfect for wonderful photos. Cuba is amazing!

Love the little swing bridge. A few kms of walking trails. Very peaceful. It's a great bike ride or scooter ride to get there. Although we saw a few small buses in the parking lot. Very nice.

Wonderful park! You can hike on your own here. And my advice would be to hike without a guide. You can go at your own pace, admire the beautiful nature and relax. I went with my sister. The path was clear and there is really no chance of getting lost. 😌🌴

We booked a guide from our hotel - Memories - very friendly taxi driver and very knowledgable guide. Learnt a lot about Cuban history and how it has affected the fauna and flora. Nice touch to visit the coffee house and swim in the water fall.
Don't forget mosquito repellent tho! - There weren't too many but...

I recently visited as part of a tour group. The falls are surprisingly close to Trinidad. Cheap in price to attain entry to the park. From the car park you set off and walk for about 20-45 mins and you then arrive at the falls. The falls are running. It is easy to swim out into the caves and over to the waterfall. Then a walk back to the car park and all is over. Pack plenty of water and some snacks.

We paid $10 Cuc to enter the park at the restaurant shop/bar. Despite that we know everything has a price we are still unsure who the money goes to. It is a very easy walk with some interesting things like a big wasp net and an old traditional country house. You can visit the house if you wish and drink a traditional herbal tea (infusion) which is good for inflammation, circulation, digestion and more... health matters so give it a go. You can give the owner of the house from .10 to 25 cents. Although he is just happy with your visit we wanted to contribute. The waterfall is great with beautiful blue sky water it is 9 meters deep. An awesome experience definitely worth the effort this place is not to missed.

After bien in the city its so nice to go for a hike in hature. Worth spending a few pesos and going with a guide knowlegable in this area to understand better the diferent eco-systems and natural habitat. We also saw several bird species, some were quite colourful. The waterfalls are fantastic and the swim, one you will never forget. This is one of the must-see-and-do while in Trinidad. We stopped for lunch on our way in a counrtyside home paladar where all the food and honey was produced on the farm. Suggest going in the morning to avoid groups at the waterfall

There seems to be a big range of distances/times that people suggest for visiting the Waterfalls, so to clarify:

The distance from Trinidad Center to the Entrance of the Park (i.e. where tour buses drop off their travellers) is around 10km and takes a good 2 hours to walk. It's not a very exiting walk, just following a dirt road through some fields. Not a lot of shade.
Directions listed by other reviewers are correct.

Same trip can be made with a taxi for around 10-15CUC. probably best not to make the taxi wait as the amount of time the trek and swimming takes is difficult to pre determine and there are always taxis waiting to take people back to Trinidad.

Once at the park you pay the entrance fee and then you start the walk to the waterfalls. This takes 30-45 mins, but is a much more difficult trek with steep slopes and several creek crossings (in our case also a few cows that blocked the path).

The "main event" is the waterfall at the very end of the path, but on the way you pass multiple swimming spots (not waterfalls) where you can stop.

There are no toilets/changing rooms along the path and nothing can be purchased anywhere other than at the entrance where there is a restaurant.
