The church has rather typical outer facade, situated on the northeastern side of Plaza Mayor keeps appearing on Trinidad postcard views. It was rebuilt in 1892 on the site of an earlier church destroyed in a storm. It represents a mixture of a 20th-century touch-ups with artifacts from I'd say 18th century. All in all, good to see when in... More

Quite small but very nice church. Good for about 30minutes. There are not so many things to see in Trinidad so it is worth to visit the church

The church has seen better days but it is a great one. Stands on a perfect place. Really the town centre. Don't forget to go inside, it is nice to see and it will cost you nothing unless you are like me and leave some money for the church.

This is a lovely old church on the main square---not opulent like the cathedrals of Europe but none the less beautiful in its simplicity. Definitely worth a visit if it is open.

Very pretty, had a wonder around and a snack in the little bar next door, plus a welcome drink (water) and touch of shade

This is a typical Spanish Baroque Church standing in the main square of picturesque Trinidad. Added as a typical Trinidad style are the grids inside its five arches. While the exterior is simple yet beautiful, the interior is very plain, white washed with only few decorations. Best to come late afternoon, when the setting sun shines directly on it making... Either we didn't go to the same place, or lots of people are overly generous ! The interior is relatively plain, with no explanation of the displays. It's a nice quite escape from the hustle of the town. The opening times are a couple of hours longer than the LP guidebook says - Footprint is up to date.

If you're looking for opulence in a church in Central or Latin America you won't find it, and this church is no exception. Nice, warm and quiet with no significant decorations, frescoes or relics.
