Me and my partner had an amazing day with guide Reinier. We did a horse trip through the „Valle de los ingenios“ with a stop at a coffee plantation and a following short walk to a beautiful waterfall. On the way back we had lunch on a small organic farm. Even a vegetarian meal for us was no problem. Reinier speaks very well English and has a lot of knowledge about Trinidad, plants and animals. Also the horses were well trained and in a healthy condition. Thank you Reinier for the amazing day !…

I don't even know where to begin to tell you how wonderful this experience was. Coming from the USA it was reassuring to go over basic safety and horse handling directions prior to starting the experience. I didn't experience this in other activities I'd done in Cuba. Reinier had arranged for another 'guide' to join us because of the size of our group. I felt very safe and connected to the experience through Reinier. He engaged with each person in our group. We started earlier than any other riding experience in the area and this was on purpose. It gave us a nice ride through the magical area in Trinadad- Reinier could take his time telling us about the farmers and people we passed, the flora and fona and animals and birds we encountered but best of all was when we reached the 'swimming hole'. We had it all to ourselves for a good half hour plus. This is where we really connected as a group- people from Germany, USA and the United Kingdom-we all became friends. Played in the water, took pictures of each other, learned about one another- Reinier part of it as well plus played bartender making us delicious mojitos and pina coladas. We didn't leave until the 'invasion' of other tour groups arrived. Within moments the area was packed. On the way back we saw a Bee Hummingbird (World's smallest bird!!!). The other activities on this experience-learning about the coffee making process and sugar cane- were both fun and informative. Be sure to do this experience if you have the opportunity!!!!…
