A wonderful hike to a lovely waterfall and natural pool

A great little hike, up the mountains from the city of Trinidad. It takes 45 mins to reach the falls and then enjoy a dip in the natural pool to cool off. Easy, cheap and fun!

Nice hike through the forest ending with a waterfall and a natural pool a bit downstream. About an hour each way, with uphill on return back.

Really enjoyed the hike and subsequent swim in the lake. Topes de Collantes is absolutely beautiful. Just make sure you get a taxi that is in decent condition as roads are really steep and winding.

Supposedly a 4 km walk but in fact before you reach the walk itself you need to go over a km from the parking. A very steep walk down and therefore back up through mostly shaded hills. Arrived at the bottom to find that the 60+ metre waterfall was in fact a series of smaller cascades. The pool at the... More

It was some days after the rain. We went with a taxi (around 25CUC, return fare with waiting time) to the entrance of the trail. We walked through the wonderful forest and reached Caburní waterfalls. It was a nice show. One can even walk up the rocks, while the water is flowing down. Another piece of trail leads you to... More

This trip is for relatively fit people only. There is fairly steep descent to the waterfall, and equally steep trip back to the top. There is interesting rock formation near the top of the hill and all many interesting plants, which are not seen in canadian woods. Near the top is also coffee plantation. This trip can be arranged through... More
