The Cougar Line is a great service to transport you to the start of the Queen Charlotte Track and also organise your bags to be transported to your accommodation each day. The service was faultless and well organised.

Good service and clear instruction was given for passengers. Safe ride and reasonable prices. Was flexible too as they accomodated our change of plans when there was heavy rain in the morning. They suggested alternative activities for those who were unwilling to trek in the...More

Anyone wanting to experience the famous Marlborough Sounds at firsthand is strongly recommended to do so on one of the Cougar Line's (easily found on the waterfront) 3 hour 'Delivery' cruises (NZ$85 per adult). Besides having excellent staff - both on and off shore -...More

I can't recommend the folk at Cougar Line enough. They run lunch cruises throughout Queen Charlotte Sound and also arrange transport to and from the start of the Queen Charlotte track for walkers. Not only did they drop us at the start of the track,...More

Having arrived on the InterIsland Ferry from Wellington into Picton we had no idea how often this water taxi service ran to take us to the Bay of Many Coves Resort. We could not find a pubic timetable. However, after a few minutes a boat...More

You could walk the whole 71 km track if you're in a good shape but there are better, I mean, more diverse walks on the south island. A much better option and suitable for all ages is to take the 10.00 am Cougar boat to...More

Hi Katherine, would you share please the difficulty of the walk? Royal Caribbean states it's sometimes very steep, rough and muddy. Did you find that to be the case? If so, how much? I have a 74-year old husband who may not want this but would love to see the spectacular sights!

Hi, Its not a difficult or steep walk. However it is true it can be quite slippery after rain. There are exposed tree roots and rocks on the bush trail which need to be watched out for. It takes about an hour to an hour and... More

Hi We are planning our New Zealand trip for next February and will be staying at Bay of Many Coves for 3 nights during our visit. We are trying to tie up our frerry crossings from Wellington to Picton with the Water taxi time table. The ferry leaving Wellington at 1.30 pm arriving in Picton at 5pm seems favourite which then gives us an hour to catch the 6pm water taxi (the last one according to the time table) What happens if the ferry into Picton is late? Is there a private transfer we can arrange? Does the 6pm Water Taxi run coincide with mail deliveries. thanks Tim

We are Canadians on a cruise and stop in Picton in the second week of February what does this queen charlotte trip cost per person? Any suggestions or recommendations? What times does it start and end? How do we get from the Harbour to the Cougar Line ? are there get on and off stops? We are well travelled Canadian seniors and mainly like sight seeing with not more than a mile of non strenuous walking. We would prefer a trip of about 4 hours or so in duration Are reservations necessary? Is payment due on embarking? Is there commentary on the sights during your cruise? Please respond before Jan 27 as we leave Canada that day Many thanks for your kind anticipated assistance. Alvin
