Absolutely great experience. Kev is a great guide providing a lot of information about the area as well as the conservation work. Even so it was a bit cold, we came close to Yellow-eyed penguins and said a hello to a couple of little penguins in their house - sorry fellows for just dropping in on you :-) If you... More

Hi guys, Thank you kindly for those nice comments. It's true that when the southerly blow it can get a bit cold and the extra camouflage gear that we provide cut the wide but the real warm up is the sight of the penguins close to our hides. Hope you guys are keeping warm in Cairns ^-^ Thank you again. More

What an incredible experience we had! Sea kayaking was amazing and Kev was extremely understanding of only going as far out as we felt comfortable. It was just the 2 of us and our guide Kev which actually made this tour a much more personal and memorable experience. We got to see lots of seals (i couldn't believe how many... More

Hi guys! Thank you very much for your nice comment. The safety and the comfort of our clients are some of the main focuses of the trip and we're all very aware that everyone has different comfort zone. Plus we are lucky to be guiding in a very sheltered bay with a lot of wildlife around. Pohatu marine reserve is... More

Our first time in New Zealand, traveling from the US, we were so looking forward to kayaking in the Pohatu Penguin Habitat, and were afforded much flexibility by the manager, even an opportunity to head out a bit later than usual, but alas the winds kicked up and it was unsafe (even for the Kiwis) to embark. Their integrity and... More

I’ll start by saying – “What a wonderful day” – this tour is just wonderful! Our tour pick up time was noon so we were able to get off the boat and look around Akaroa. Joey met us at the dock and let us know where to meet her at noon. This is our second tour in New Zealand that... More

You learn a lot, you see many animal (seal, penguin, lamb...) also fantastic with kids as they can feed sheep ! It is really a must as you are alone with the nature. We were greeted by a wonderful happy and friendly team. Our guide Kevin was just fabulous in every way. Enthusiastic, knowledgeable, passionate and witty. The scenery is out of this world. We loved exploring another side of the Banks Peninsula and hearing the stories of farmers from the area. The sea kayaking was just sensational and our only complaint was... More

What a wonderful experience! The drive & views & photo ops were amazing. But, when we arrived at the sanctuary, we were able to interact with the "pet" sheep & 2 penguins. One of the penguins is blind & can never be released but he gets to swim daily in an enclosed pond. Fortunately for us we were able to... More

I planned this excursion over a year before I would be in Akaroa and yet on the day I was so filled with nervous anticipation. What a spectacular excursion. I'm trying to stretch my experiences and do something new..... just being in NZ was amazing then to kayak with penguins, seals and cormorants was utterly magnificent. I'm over 60 and... More
