The highlight was seeing the hectors dolphins 🐬 they put on music and we sailed along with the dolphins falling the... More

The boat had a lovely feel to it. We travelled slowly, which was rather enjoyable and fitting to the environment. Especially on the way back purely on sail power, quietly. We had dolphins around the boat for about half of the journey. The skipper was very confident. He took us all the way out of the harbour and onto big... More

After we set sails, we were joined by many, many dolphins, who enjoined the trip together with us. The crew was also very nice. We also saw seals, giant patrols and a white flickered little blue dolphin. It's worth the money. Ralf

We really enjoyed our cruise of Akaroa harbor aboard the Fox II. The captain had a real talent for finding Hector's dolphins, and they like to follow this sailing boat more than the power boats offering Akaroa tours. We were able to go all the way to the head of the harbor and see the extensive caves and shag colonies.... More

Luckily, we arrived in Akaroa a day after Fox II commenced its summer sailings - which was probably why there were only 5 passengers - almost outnumbered by the crew! The weather was perfect too, which meant we were able to sail for a good part of the cruise and have dolphins swimming right alongside - so close they seemed... More

We just had a lovely afternoon cruising with FOX II. We had 3 kids with us (aged 3,5,7y) and at first I was a bit skeptical about it being a smaller, fairly open boat with young kids. However, compared to the other companies with small modern boats, there was plenty of space above deck for the kids to roam, easy... More

The day we were originally booked, the weather meant they had to cancel the trip but Roy was happily able to accommodate us the next day and it was well worth the wait. A lovely setting, great little boat, friendly and very informative captain and crew - plus lots and lots of all the promised wildlife: dolphins, seals, penguins, albatross... More

We went on the Fox 11 as a treat for our wedding anniversary. What it takes to make my wife happy is animals. She came back very happy!!! I loved it when the skipper (a characterful, knowledgable and very likeable guy) told us he was going to play his music and the dolphins would turn up. To confound my cycnicism... More

The Fox 2 is a great way to experience the beauty of the Akaroa harbour and the wildlife in the bay. The crew were incredibly friendly and helpful. We took our two small children along and there were life jackets to fit them and a bucket handy when my son started feeling queasy. (Luckily we left the boat with the... More
