A wonderful time spent with locals, Jeff and Susie as they delivered the mail to the beautiful bays around Akaroa. Beautiful scenery, great local information about the history of the area, and the present way of life. We would recommend this trip.

We have always booked ahead. I think we booked with the visitor centre. That opens at 9.00 and the mail run goes at 9.00 so I suspect that booking on the day won't work.

I think this may already have been answered. I booked through the Akaroa Adventure Centre. They're easy to find online. They're very helpful. You'll enjoy the experience.

It was $75 per ticket, so we paid $150. But this is payment in New Zealand dollars, which are worth about 75% of US dollar. So the true cost wasn't as much. Enjoyable way to see scenic Akaroa.
