Thank you for taking the time to review us. We are pleased you enjoyed our Banks Track again. We love your description of "goblin forests" - an apt image of that area.
What a stunning part of NZ to walk!! Thanks to the families who maintain this track so well and provide the accomodation. It’s certainly a track with a fair incline on it. The first two hours of day 1 and the last hour to the...More
Thank you for taking the time to review our Banks Track Experience. As you mention, there is a "fair incline" to get over the rim of the extinct volcano that created the Banks Peninsula landscape. We are please you and your children enjoyed your trip.
This 3 day tramp is just fantastic. I’ve done it 4 times over the years and it just gets better each time. The booking and all arrangements went smoothly, fabulous quirky accomodations, wonderful birdlife. The owners of the farms tramped through have such great love,respect...More
We are always pleased to hear from repeat walkers, and happy that you have enjoyed the Banks Track once more. Thank you for your review, hopefully we'll see you back for a fifth time in the near future.
This little hike is great with enough decent hiking to break a sweat, wonderful views of the coast, then a comfy bed and shower at the end of the day. You can easily do the trek in 2 days but the 3 day option gets you...More
Thank you for your review of Banks Track. We are pleased you enjoyed your hike. We are making some changes to the pack cartage system in the coming season so your misunderstanding should be avoided in the future.
My wife and I hiked the Banks Track in early March. It was a wonderful experience in many ways. The hiking was varied and interesting. It ranged from wonderful views of the various bays from the headlands to sheltered forest and fresh water pools. The...More
We appreciate you taking the time to review your Banks Track trip. Thank you for noting the effort we make to "promote the welfare of the land and varies species". This is an important aspect of the Banks Track experience.
We so enjoyed our wonderful few days 'away from it all' in this lovely hidden part of the world. Although we actually live in Akaroa the track had some wonderful surprises in store. We took our time to absorb the amazing scenery, watch the wildlife...More
Kia ora Ad Thank you for your positive review. We are pleased you took the time to really enjoy what is on offer in our "back yard". With luck, we'll see you back on Banks Track before too long. Nga Mihi
I would opt for the three day option if possible. Firstly to really enjoy what each stop has to offer. A swim at Flea bay is so welcomed after that first day hike, then the penguin tour in the evening. Most importantly the second day...More
Thanks for your thought out review, we really appreciate your time. We will pass on your comment about the butter/olive oil to the team at Stony Bay. Nga Mihi.
We had a great 3 day walk. Night 1 accommodation is wonderful with lovely views. First day was lashing wind and rain so we were all soaked on arrival at Flea Bay but accommodation was excellent. Coastline walk on second day stunning but Track was...More
Kia ora Tim We appreciate the review and agree that all outdoor activities in NZ require us to be prepared for all weather. Did you get to see the mists over the hilltops? I hope so, as they are so beautifully ethereal.
This track is just fantastic. The accommodation on all three nights was great but the final night at Stony Bay is just so quirky and interesting that it gives the track a whole new dimension. The scenery is varied including stunning coastal cliffs and bays,...More
Kia ora Derek Thanks for taking the time to write us a review. We are pleased you enjoyed your time "in our backyard" and hope to see you back sometime in the future. Nga Mihi, Tricia
A little bit of heaven. That's what this track is. Thank you to the farmer families who run it. Whether you're into 'real hiking' (sleeping on a mat or bad mattress and eating dry frozen meals) or if you're more of the glamping kind of...More
