We booked the excursion from our cruise ship travelling around New Zealand. Swimming with the Hector Dolphins in Akaroa Harbour was easily the highlight of our two week trip. There were twelve people in our group and we were kitted out with full wetsuits, boots...More

We spent the morning cruising the harbour to spot Hector's dolphins and sealions, and they put on a wonderful show for us. Welcoming crew and excellent narration from our skipper.Great memories that will last with us a lifetime. A must do.

Instructive comments of the skipper, saw seals, penguins, albatross, petrels, shages and dolphins, just my cup of tea. Only 10 people, turnarounds when dolphins were spotted, a bit of geology. Definitely a must.

Thank you for your review. Akaroa Harbour is a beautiful harbour to cruise around and the wildlife just top it off. The joys of wildlife is that then never sit still long enough for easy photos :-)

On a rainy overcast day we headed into choppy water. I nearly didn't get in due to the condition but nothing could stop me once the dolphins arrived. A magical experience. Our guides were amazing and just as excited as we were. Finished off with...More

Thanks Sonja! Although the weather may have been a bit drab - it sure sounds like you had a great trip. The dolphins don't seem to mind the cold wet conditions :-)

The whole thing exceeded my expectations. The staff were friendly, educational and professional. It was a magical experience swimming with Hector's dolphins in their own natural environment. You get a bonus hot chocolate drink to warm up after the swim and you can purchase photos...More
