We thoroughly enjoyed our farm tour today with Murray. We learnt about the history of his family/Banks Peninsula and he made the talk factual with a personal, witty touch. The talk was followed by a sheep shearing and sheep herding demonstration outside. After, his wife Sue served delicious scones and tea in their beautiful house. Thank you for a great... More

We had a wonderful time at the farm! They brought us in to their home and life as if we were part of the family. We learned so much about their passion for sheep farming and the local land they live on. The stories and things we learned about the local sheep culture and farming were fascinating, and only gave... More

I would highly recommend this trip to anyone on trip to New Zealand. There was so many interesting facts about sheep farming. How computers are involved and when female sheep are pregnant they all have ultrasounds to see how many babies they are carrying so they are put in certain areas of the farm to make sure they eat enough.... Amazing! The people make this place amazing. This tour was one of the highlights of my visit to NZ and you should not miss it! You will love the views, love the people. Love the story that Murray tells you. You have to visit it!

What a drop dead gorgeous place that perfectly fits the mental picture one would have of the NZ hillsides dotted with sheep, and beautiful bay below. Murray was such a personable and genuinely humble sharing of the story of his heritage and the triumphs and struggles that his multi generational family has experienced working this farm. It was truly heartwarming... More

Our cruise ship, the Diamond Princess, offered this excursion and what a great experience it was. Not only do you get to experience and learn about sheep herding and sheep shearing, but listening to Murray recount his family history was in itself worth the visit to his farm. Lastly, enjoying tea and scones in such a beautiful rural setting was... More

Murray gave us a great perspective of sheep farming in New Zealand. How his family came over, the struggles of keeping the farm viable, ... Also got to see live sheep shearing and a sheep dog demonstration. Very worthwhile.

Our visit to Paua Bay Farm was both enjoyable and informative – it was NOT just another visit to a sheep farm. Murray is a great story teller and his recounting the history of this family farm was mesmerizing. His description of the farm’s operation and the demonstration of sheep shearing provided personalized insight into daily life on a sheep... More

I thought it was a nice tour, very organized and interesting but I don´t think animals are supposed to be a business, they should have the right to live peacefully not with thousands of tourists looking at them or laughing and touching. There was a part in the tour where one of the farmers took a sheep on the stage... More

I've spent three weeks there and did at least one farm tour, which was just awesome. Special, informative, totally not boring, with a very talented story teller. So nice to watch the parts of farmers work!
