This is the beach for seniors and young children. Beautiful sand, clear blue sea and ammenities close at hand. Surf lifeguards on duty every time we visited.

Visitors from Victoria arrived and wanted to check out the WA beaches. Thing is with young children at an ocean beach for the first time, where could they go that was a bit sheltered, Off we went to Port Beach. We parked the car and the kids were off. Straight onto the sand and towards the water. The adults had... More

Went to this beach once a day for an hour or so at various times (morning and afternoon). The parking lot was more crowded than the beach. On most days the water was calm and refreshing. In the parking lot was a coffee van which served great iced coffee! There were a few shells and rocks near the shore line... More

Myself and my brother have been checking out the beaches here and found port beach to be the best. Beautiful sand hardly any seaweed and not to rough sea wise. You don't get many kite boarders here. However you can watch them up along the beach. It's a great spot to relax. There are also toilet facilities that are spotless... More

Most people think of Cottesloe as the best beach spot, but Port Beach is just way better for swimming and beach chill out. There are no shops or attractions, just the now defunct Salt on the Beach which has become Coast (haven't been yet), and that offers coffee, drinks, lunch and dinner. But, back to the actual beach: Port Beach... More

Great place for families with young children and very calm... When weather is hot and nice, water is very still barely any waves.

Port Beach is popular with locals. The fine white sand is good for building sandcastles, The beach is popular with families. It's very close to the port of Fremantle. The water at the beach is relatively placid, though from time to time when the surf's up the water is good for surfing. The nearest train station is North Fremantle, which... More

My Mum used to take me here when I was a little kid. Must be 1 of the calmest beaches on the Perth coast. Great for young families and for that matter, anyone. Car park, kiosk and restaurant handy. Not sure about buses. Taxis available. Kiosk prices are slightly more expensive but that is expected. Have fun :)
