Fremantle's favourite beach
Sep 2021
Port Beach is the port city's favourite beach. It's in North Fremantle; it has a slight industrial feel, but the sand is nice. It's only 5 minutes from the centre of Fremantle, with bars, restaurants and other useful venues. It's famous on Australia's West Coast as a place to watch the blazing sun sink into the Indian Ocean. By the way, Port Beach is well-known for hosting weddings and other functions,

Lovely Beach
Jan 2020
About 30 minutes outside of Perth, I found this lovely beach called Port Beach. It is next to Fremantle a tourist region and unfortunately, I went on rush hour and it was very crowded. But if you go earlier or stay a little later – as I did – you will enjoy some peaceful moments of the sunset and the surfers at Sandtrap. There is also a spot dedicated to snorkeling.

Lovely beach for the family
May 2020
In days gone by, we would pack our beah umbrella and Esky in our station wagon and head for Port Beach. We would have our picnic and then, after waiting half an hour, we would head for the water. Today Port Beach is much the same. The water is usually placid and it's a favourite picnic spot for young families. It's one of the best beaches in the Metro area. The beach gets a battering in the Indian Ocean's winter storms, but the new barrier seems to be working. It is in North Femantle, near the port, as the name implies. It's a great place to see the sun set in the West.

One of the Big Beaches
May 2019
This is one of several big beaches outside Fremantle as you head to Perth. Lots of room for sun and fun. Hard to imagine any crowds here.

Lovely quiet beach!
Feb 2020 • Friends
This huge beach was so quiet and still, even on a sunny day. Much easier to swim here and less wind than other beaches we experienced along the western coast. Little shade and less facilities I.e. water, showers etc

Good swimming beach
Nov 2019
This is the best swimming beach south of Sorrento and is good for swimmers who do not like the big waves. The only issue is that parking can be a bit of a problem.

Short but nice
Jan 2019 • Couples
No dogs allowed (Good). Beach has a couple of good bars close by and the sands are lovely (free of seaweed or rocks).
