Park, Playground, Ferris Wheel
Apr 2021
The park was located across the road from our hotel. Nice grassed area with the Norfolk Pines, Explorer's Monument, Ferris wheel, children's' playground, ablution block and café. Easter weekend certainly attracted families to enjoy the facilities or to bring along their own picnic. Very popular area but parking was a nightmare.

Green park
Feb 2021
This is a quite large park area in Fremantle with some lovely old trees and a green lawn. Not much more I can say. It does have toilets.

Refreshing
Nov 2020
This is a nice green park on the edge of the Fremantle CBD down near the fishing harbour. Lots of Norfolk Island pines. Very open.

Ideal for families
Oct 2020
I'm always amazed how many people are in this park. I usually walk through it on my way to the wharf. There's a conveniently located cafe on site, skateboard park, children's park (swings, slides etc), giant ferris wheel (something you have to pay for) and large grassed area ideal for playing sports. On the weekend I visited they had a giant screen they were setting up to broadcast the upcoming WAFL final, for free viewing in the park.

great for kids, close to the markets
Jun 2020
This is a nice park, with plenty to keep the kids amused. It is close to the markets and you could stop with some food and drink while the kids burn off some energy

Nice place to hang out and enjoy the sun, music, and birds!
May 2020
The open space, the massively old trees, and the facilities in the Esplanade Park make it work a short visit! It is also surrounded by restaurants, pubs, the Little Creatures brewery, the Esplanade Hotel, and of course, the boat harbor ... what is not to like to recommend about it? Enjoy!

Great youth Plaza
Feb 2020
Our apartment overlooked the park so we passed through it may times over or our six night stay. The Youth Plaza was the highlight, with constant activity, in particular skateboarding. One afternoon we passed through and they had children as young as three learning to skateboard in a class. There is plenty of grass with shade if required from the trees. There is also the big wheel and a toilet block.

Lovely Park
Oct 2019
On our short visit we lingered in this park because it is so pretty and right next to the center of town. Just great landscaping and a great site.

on land reclaimed from the sea
Nov 2019
After sightseeing and visiting museums a nice place to relax is the Esplanade Park with its many tall Norfolk Pines. It is also a place for kids and young people with a children's playground, a Ferris wheel and a skateboard park. There are a few benches, but also the 'Carriage Café', on which it says that it is from 1912.

On its north side can be seen the historical Esplanade Hotel, while to the south are railway tracks, just before Mews Road and the Fishing Harbour. To my surprise the esplanade is surrounded on the north and west, thus away from the sea, by the curving Marine Terrace. This has to be explained by the fact that once the seashore was to be found here and that the Esplanade Park has been built on land recliamed from the sea.
