About
The Town Hall was built in Neoclassical style in the late 19th century. The main attraction of the building is the soldier statue at the tower of the Town Hall, who plays the Klapka-march by Beni Egresssy every day at 10.00, 12.00, 14.00 and 16.00 o'clock.

Survivor of earthquake and fire,
Oct 2019
On Klapka square 1 stands the Neoclassical building of the Town Hall of Komarno. In front of it is the statue of Klapka, who was a top dog Hungarian general during the Hungarian War of Independence of 1848-1849. The Town Hall building wasn't luckier than the other houses of Komarno. First, an earthquake, later the fire ruined it. After the second rebuilding, now proudly dominates the city's main square, and on its copper-covered tower, the clock is dutifully counting the time.
