    Lovely cute museum
It is a museum of toys. We are in our mid seventies and we loved the museum very much. The exhibits are nice, some reminded us our childhood (although we come from another country - Israel). We loved the miniatures of some main and famous building in Portugal. The local team there was more than friendly.

We were in Ponte de Lima on a Monday and wanted to visit the museum. Unfortunately it is only open from Tuesday to Sundays. As we loved the town we will certainly be back.

Very interesting visit. Recogised some of the toys :-). The frase there is nothing new under the sun its so true. One can see toys that our great grandparents used caming back a few decades later just in a diferent colour!
Enjoyed the visit.

Unfortunately Portugal doesn't seem to care about toys because this is the only museum that survived through the last years and decades on the country. It's very nice!

We visited the museum with our two children (2yrs & 4yrs). This is a real little gem of a museum within a few minutes walk of Ponte de Lima across the Roman bridge. The area around the museum is perfect for a coffee/ice cream stop.
Inside the toys are displayed in simple yet clever displays. Galvanised metal and opaque perspex have been used to insert the museum within the historic building and clearly identify the old from the new. The toys are beautiful!
The children loved the little playroom within the garden outside and the model railway was a real hit.

It's a nice little museum, worth visiting if you have time. If you only have one day, or you're not so much into museums, don't bother. The museum has a nice collection of old toys, cars, dolls, tricicles, soldiers, kitchens.... it's clean and well organised. I felt a bit claustrophobic inside, as the rooms are very small and without ventilation. You won't spend more than half an hour in the museum, and there's a nice garden around it, a little place next door where they sell ceramics and you can see the person making them right on front of you, so that might be interesting for kids. There's a playroom as well but we didn't see it. My kids enjoyed seeing soem of the toys, but at some point it became boring for them. The entrance fee is only one euro and kids enter for free.

You'll see a true history of toys.
It's a small museum comparing to a city/capital museum, but it is well preserved and well documented. It's a good place to go by and learn a bit of portuguese toys.

In a nice building facing city center and Lima River this MUseum offers a display of the history of portuguese toys, explaining the evoltuion according to world history and portuguese history. 2 floors plus a small room with the display of a motorized city with trams, airport makes this a interesting way to spend 1 hour with kids.

This museum is so beautiful! It tells the story of the toy materials over time and is very charming! So worth a visit! It brings us back the memories when we were kids...
