An opportunity to visit beauty

I happened to stumble on this church. Right above where we entered was an emblem with a crown. The door was open and we peaked in. It was gorgeous!

The ceiling was quite majestic, with attractive decorations surrounded by strips of gold. There was a huge chandelier. A painting was behind the altar. Some people were waiting for the service. They were sitting comfortably on wooden pews. There were a few other paintings on the wall.

At first I didn’t know the name of this church. I had to ask someone in the street and she told me: “Igreja da Misericórdia” or in other words “The church of divine mercy”. Quite an appropriate name!

I am glad I had the opportunity to visit this attractive church. It was worthwhile!
