The small building is well laid out and the staff are friendly, but I'm not sure that it does a good job of educating visitors about vinho verde (green wine).

The visit begins with a video presentation in a small room. I was at a disadvantage, as the video was in Portuguese. But from what I gathered during the presentation, it showed the different regions where vinho verde is produced and talked a little about the different grape varieties.

The small museum upstairs shows various items that were used in the production of wine, but there wasn't a great deal of educational support.

The wine tasting at the end of the visit was for one vinho verde branco (white). As vinho verde also comes in a red variety, it would have been nice to be able to sample a red also.

Although a fan of Vinho Verde, this attraction almost passed me by. It was an interesting visit which would have been incomplete if I had not been persuaded by my companion to stay for the very informative film show outlining the history of the wine, a must see.

In a great old building this exhibit could be so much better. 3 euro to get in is a good price but the exhibit could delve into what makes vinho verde unique. I thought the staff were very friendly and explained everything well. Perhaps have a small flight of wines at the end to compare would be a better idea than one glass of one wine. Still, we felt it was time well spent.

I was surprised with this museum, having been to other "wine exhibition centers" I thought I was going to learn about how Vinho Verde is produced and what makes it different from other Portuguese wines, yet I learned almost nothing. The whole exhibition relies on the several tv screens distributed along the space with some text and information that is not displayed in a very interesting way. The space is nice but I don't think it's being used to its full potential. Most parts of the museum are not translated in English, there are displays of actual tools and materials used to make wine but there's no explanation about what they are used for or how. They just added the name of what we're seeing with no further explanation. When we finally reached the tasting part there's only had 1 wine to taste and when I asked a basic question about the wine the employers didn't really know the answer. Summing it up, please work on making the tour more exciting, add more wines to the tasting bit and have the info displayed in a more interesting way.

A great building in the centre of a beautiful old town that has been wonderfully restored some some modern touches, but as an interpretation and promotion centre for Vinho Verde it falls very flat.

We were given an English information leaflet, but it seemed to concentrate on arcane technical details about the wine, with no introduction as to what makes Vinho Verde different or interesting - or why they have the slight sparkle. There's very little information about the actual exhibits scattered through the remaining rooms.

Tasting of one wine is included in the (very cheap) entry price, but the staff seemed very confused when we wanted to taste an additional one (at the modest extra cost stated on the sign). Buying a wine must be a very rare event as they seemed totally unprepared.

Ponte de Lima is a city you can fall in love with. After a solo tour of the city, our team had an appointment at the local center. The northern part of Portugal is the region that produces Verde wines. Therefore, it is necessary to visit this institution to gain full knowledge about the region. "Centro" is located in a beautifully renovated building and occupies several floors. Professional and friendly service made our stay pleasant from the very beginning. There is a museum exhibition about the region's winemaking and a small art gallery to see. The visit ended with a "lecture" on Verde wines and a tasting. Most importantly, it turned out beyond any doubt that the name of the wines does not come from their color, but from the greenery that dominates the local landscape. Verde wines, like others, can be white, rose or red. You can find out a lot of other information about wine certification, producers and suppliers on site.

New, tidy, automated and very pleasant place.
All air cooled, the break was excellent as the day was very hot.
On the top floor there was a cultural exhibition.
