This is A bucket list place to visit. Pictures do not do it justice. A beautiful view from anywhere on the island. Very cold in January but the beauty of the place makes the cold bearable. Highly recommend to visit. Has hotels and shops, and restaurants...More
It's a fortified city with exclusively pedestrian access. It's a wonderful country where it seems to be back in the past. The road to get there is very busy so I recommend getting there by taxi or by city bus from Gefira. Try climbing up...More
Monemvasia is known as the Gibraltar of the East. It has more local than foreign tourists which makes it a very pleasant place to visit without having to face the crowds of the more popular sites of Greece. The fortress is very easy to explore...More

The Castle (top of the mountain) is closed at 15.00 (winter time), summer time is usually longer. I think you can make it. But why to rush? You can go there in morning as we did and enjoy the beautiful reflection on sea. In evening you can look the low part of island. Remember there is no parking place. I would recommend to take taxi and NOT bus. Taxi comes cheaper. Hope I was helpful!
