Unique landscape
Jun 2021
Unexpected landscape (for me at least) in Denmark, large sand dunes as far as you can see. Interesting place to wander around.

Not a desert but.....
Aug 2020
Although these wandering sand dunes are found in more places in the North of Denmark this is so special that one has to come for a visit. A challenge for the fittest but also quite passable for those who might not feel so fit.

Something you wouldn´t expect here
Aug 2020
We came to Raabjerg Mile from a nearby camping by bikes and loved it from the first moment. An extraordinary contrast when the forest suddenly changes into "a desert" is beautiful. We had a nice clear day and no one on the horizon so we could have all this space for ourselves. And boy, it is quite large, I honestly expected Raabjerg Mile to be a bit smaller. Beautiful photos.

I sincerely enjoyed the vastness of Råbjerg Mile, which can be described as a gigantic sand dune. Try to find a day when it's no wind and clear visibility and you will be breath-taken by nature.

A lot of sand
Aug 2020
If you like sand, you will love Rabjerg Mile! Image the biggest sand-castle you can - Radbjerg Mile is just like that - only much bigger! If you don't like sand, probably best avoided.

Nature on the move
Aug 2020 • Couples
Not at all what I expected. After the climb to the top not much more to see. But the feel of fine sand on bare feet is soothing. Do take your shoes off before going up. The little rest place by the last parking, with toilets, has some good graphics and description of the dunes formation and movement, but beware it's only in Danish.

All time favourite

This is a simple yet breathtaking display of nature and it’s force. How this massive sand dune is slowly moving across the land driven by the relentless western wind, and how it crushes everything on its way. How the locals let it and respect it is astonishing, anywhere else it would have been stopped or attempted stopped! Not in Nordjylland.... amazing, stunning, and absolute must!

Another unique piece of nature at the top of Denmark

It is great joy to walk around in this huge sand mile south of Skagen and in between the waters Skagerak and Kattegat. At our visit we at first were the only ones and that made the experience even more special.
